Local Improvement Scheme

Local authorities may provide support to groups of local residents and landowners for the restoration of non public local roads serving their properties. Residents and landowners must pay a community contribution to the restoration works.

Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) 2023 – Non-Public Roads

Applications are invited for the Local Improvement Scheme which applies to non-public accommodation roads. Projects must benefit two or more parcels of land owned or occupied by different persons or serve the public.

Due to changes to the guidelines, all previous applicants who were unsuccessful are required to re-apply for consideration in 2023.

LIS Grant is subject to Department of Rural and Community Development funding.
