Starting with breakfast at 7:30 am , the event will discuss the critical role sustainability can play in business success, with Colette Shirley, Sustainability Director for Corporate and Commercial Banking at Bank of Ireland, leading a discussion on how sustainability can drive meaningful change within an organization. With her expertise, attendees will learn about the tangible ways green strategies can make a difference, both in operational efficiency and profitability.
Michael Carty will follow with an insightful session on how sustainable investments pay off, exploring how businesses can not only recoup their initial investments in green initiatives but also generate profit. The day will continue with a presentation from Seamus Doran, Assistant Head of Economic Development & Enterprise at Carlow County Council, who will outline the financial supports available for businesses. Doran will focus on the Energy Efficiency Grant, which offers up to €7,500 in capital funding for small projects, and the Green for Business Grant, which includes access to a consultant to support the process.
One of the highlights of the morning will be a panel discussion featuring experts like Áine Byrne, Community Climate Action Officer at Carlow County Council; Sarah Byrne, Business Advisor; and Stephen Trant of Bank of Ireland, among others. Together, they will delve deeper into how businesses can maximize opportunities through sustainable practices, from networking to accessing green investment tools and collaborating with stakeholders. This diverse panel will offer perspectives from various fields, ensuring that every attendee leaves with valuable takeaways.
