Regional Homeless Forum
The South-East Homelessness Consultative Forum was established in 2010 and came to fruition following Ministerial directions issued by the then Department of the Environment, Heritage, and Local Government in Circular HU 1/2010 in accordance with the provisions of Sections 38, 39 and 41 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009. The role of this Forum is to provide a consultative mechanism in relation to Homelessness in the context of the preparation of this statutory South-East Regional Action Plan 2023-2026 .
The aim of the South-East Homelessness Consultative Forum is to provide information, views, advice, or reports in relation to Homelessness and to encourage and assess implementation of objectives to address Homelessness in both national and regional policies.
The South-East Homelessness Consultative Forum meet to discuss matters including:
- Preparation and monitoring of the Homelessness Action Plan
- Review of homeless presentations across the region
- Housing Assistance Payment Scheme (HAP)
- Discharge Policy from hospitals and prisons
- Impact of Homeless ness on Travellers
- National Quality Standards Framework for Homeless Services in Ireland
- Regional and Agency Updates
The membership of the South-East Homelessness Consultative Forum is drawn from the following sectors as outlined in Circular HU1/2010:
