New Registration
The referendums on the proposals contained in the Thirty-ninth Amendment of the Constitution (The Family) Bill 2023 and the Fortieth Amendment of the Constitution (Care) Bill 2023 will be held on Friday, 8th March 2024. If you are eligible to vote and not on the register of electors you must apply on or before Tuesday, 20th February 2024.

To be eligible to vote in a Referendum:

  1. You must be 18 years of age on or before Friday, 8th March 2024.
  2. You must be living full time at the address at which you wish to be registered.
  3. You must have Irish Citizenship.

Postal Vote
Won’t be able to make it to the Polling Station on Polling Day?

If your illness or disability or due to work/service or study reasons you
are prevented from attending a polling station on polling day, you may be
entitled to vote by post.

If you have had an illness/disability postal vote in the last general election in 2020, there is no need to re-apply.
