On 15th March 2024, Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys and Minister of State Joe O’Brien, announced a further €50 million in funding under the Community Recognition Fund 2024.

Since 1949, Shaws has been an integral part of the Carlow Town Centre experience, nestled on Lower Tullow Street. Having contributed to the vibrancy of our County Carlow for generations, Shaws further invested €13 million in 2005 to develop its current 32,000 square feet store. Now, in 2024, a refurbishment of the premises is underway, promising to usher in a fresh retail experience for Carlow Town.
