We are about to launch our survey, to get your input on the challenges facing Carlow town centre and what you'd like to see happen to improve it. This survey is part of a non-statutory public consultation before proposals are finalised and planning permission is applied for. It is a follow on from the extensive consultation that was carried out as part of Project Carlow 2040.

Exclusive Masterclass with Orlaith Carmody for Powerhouse Women in Business Award Finalists

Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office is offering an exciting opportunity for local businesswomen to enter the Powerhouse Women in Business Awards 2024. With the introduction of a special Masterclass Away Day for all finalists, facilitated by Orlaith Carmody of Carmody Coaching and Consulting, the deadline for entries has been extended to 4th November 2024 at 12 noon. By extending the deadline, the Local Enterprise Office aims to offer as many women as possible in County Carlow the chance to become finalists and experience this invaluable learning day.

Carlow County Council Vacant Homes Scheme / Grants Public Information Sessions
Carlow County Council’s Regeneration Office is hosting drop in drop out public information sessions to raise awareness around vacant and/or derelict homes, and the grants and schemes that are available to property owners. Members of Carlow County Council’s Housing Department and The Housing Agency will also be available to give advice each day on supports available.

CARLOW BUSINESSES TOUR ‘BEST IN CLASS’ LEAN MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Ten business owners from County Carlow recently took part in an educational visit to Adman Steel Sheds, a manufacturing facility in Wexford which is regarded internationally as one of the best examples of the use of lean practices in a small business. The educational tour of Adman Steel Sheds was facilitated and organised by Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office as a means of showing Carlow business owners how efficiencies and profitability can be achieved in any business and to inspire them to begin the process of adopting similar practices in their own businesses.
